Provincial Minister of Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Mian Aslam Iqbal chaired a meeting here on Monday to review the progress and implementation of ongoing projects in the housing sector.
The Housing Secretary and Head of Development Authority briefed the Minister on the progress of the plans.
Provincial Housing Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal has ordered to work day and night on social welfare programs to complete them on time. He ordered relevant authorities to make the system of providing services to people efficient and better. He said the new housing scheme in Pakistan would provide shelter to homeless people. The Ravi City project is being built to meet the residential needs of millions of people. These projects of public importance must be carried out at a rapid pace, the minister said.
The provincial minister said that the maintenance projects of the roads into and out of the provincial capital are of great importance. Better road infrastructure saves fuel, reduces air pollution and improves traffic flow; therefore, there is no room to delay these projects.
Mian Aslam Iqbal said WASA should speed up its projects to provide safe drinking water to citizens. Housing Secretary Shakeel Ahmed, Special Secretary, MD WASA, Chief Public Health Engineers North and South, LDA and PHA Officers attended the meeting.
